About Birchbox
Birchbox is a monthly subscription service focused on makeup and other beauty-related products. Launched in September 2010 by Katia Beauchamp and Hayley Barna, Birchbox sends subscribers 4 or 5 selected samples of makeup or other beauty products each month in their boxes. Items in each box may include makeup items, skincare products, perfumes, organic products, or other cosmetics items. By September 2015, Birchbox claimed over 1 million subscribers and 800 brand partners, with 50% of subscribers going on to make full-size purchases of the products they received. Birchbox’s loyalty program, which is offered in two membership tiers, offers additional benefits and points that can be used toward the purchase of full-size products on the Birchbox site.
Birchbox subscriptions come in 3 different plans. Monthly plans are billed at $15.00 per month and renew automatically every 30 days until cancelled by the subscriber. 6-month plans are billed $14.00 per month and renew automatically every 30 days until cancelled by the subscriber. Annual subscriptions are $13.00 per month and renew monthly until cancelled. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time desired by the subscriber. 6-month and Annual plans do require a commitment and must be kept for 6 or 12 months before they are eligible to be cancelled by the subscriber. Plans can be cancelled by contacting Birchbox before your next box is sent out. Other bonuses such as additional products are available with subscriptions and annual subscriptions also provide a subscriber with a discount on their first box. More information on how to cancel your Birchbox subscription can be found below.
