World Gym is a fitness center franchise. It was founded in 1976 by Joe Gold. Joe Gold had previously founded Gold’s Gym in 1973. The gym was founded during the glory days of “Muscle Beach” in Venice Beach, CA. Joe Gold was a bodybuilder and businessman. He is often referred to as the “Father of Bodybuilding”. Since his passing in 2004, the Cammilleri Family has owned World Gym. The company is privately owned. The headquarters are located in Los Angeles, CA. The gym has been frequented by some celebrities, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, and Dave Draper.
